Ezra

Black  & Grey Realism

Ezzy started his art career as a toddler scribbling shapes on his bedroom walls and eventually found his way to tattooing realism. Early influences ranged from seeing the works of Gustav Klimt to reading comics like Asterix and Obelix.

At the age of 28 he quit his job and sold everything he owned to focus on tattooing, unfortunately his first apprenticeship began the same week as the Covid pandemic began in Canada. Growth and development was extremely slow at this time but he was able to learn the basics.

Although he began his career doing scripts and walk in tattoos he still wanted to learn more about realism and larger scale tattooing. This led him to a fateful meeting with Ossian shortly after he arrived in Canada and in November 2021 he joined La Manigance as one of the first artists with the studio.

The influence and approach of Ossian and the other artists of La Manigance were critical to his development and despite many growing pains Ezzy was able to learn and progress into the larger scale projects you see in his work today. His work is focused around strong themes, dynamic lighting scenarios and sharp contrast.
